The learner registers list the Yamaha YZF-R7 (2022-current) under YZF660. Searching the register by the bike's name can make it look unapproved when it is.
⚠ A full-power YZF-R7 was also sold here and can look the same (689cc CP2 parallel twin (YZF-R7 HO, full power)). It is not LAMS approved. Use the checks below at the bike.
How to tell at the bike
- NSW and QLD both file it under the code YZF660. NSW's row reads "YZF-R7 LAMS (YZF660), 2021-on, 655cc"; QLD lists only "YZF660", so searching QLD for "R7" finds nothing.
- The LAMS bike is 655cc; the full-power YZF-R7 HO is 689cc.
- Victoria lists it as "YZF660 (YZFR7LA)".
