PCX150 inspection checklist

It's the bike you think it is

• NSW lists it by name: "PCX150", all years, 153cc.
• Victoria approves every motorcycle of 260cc or less unless it is on its non-approved list, and the PCX150 is not on that list.
• Queensland's learner table (7 September 2026) lists the newer PCX160 but not the PCX150. Riders in QLD should confirm with TMR before buying.
• It's on your state's LAMS list today (registers change) Look up a code · NSW · QLD · VIC

Every used bike

• Frame VIN and engine number match the registration papers
• PPSR check: no finance owing, not written off or stolen ppsr.gov.au ↗ (a few dollars, needs the VIN)
• Registration is current, and in the seller's name

Known faults to check for

  What to look for

  A simple, low-stress single-cylinder commuter engine with a long production run and no widely-reported major fault pattern found this session. Wear items are the usual scooter concerns: drive belt and variator rollers at high mileage.

This is a checklist, not a diagnosis. Anything that fails, or that you can't check, is worth a mechanic's pre-purchase inspection. Amber “unverified” tags mean we couldn't confirm that figure against a manufacturer source.
