Look it up on your state register by its code, not its name KV or XHB00 or XHL00
NSW's original approval is filed under code KV, description "RS 660 LAMS & Tuono 660 LAMS", 2020-on, 659cc — one code covering both models' LAMS versions.
From 2025 NSW also lists codes XHB00 ("RS 660 Factory LAMS") and XHL00 ("RS 660 LAMS") under the family code XH, 659cc — the newer Factory-trim and standard-trim LAMS approvals, alongside the original KV entry rather than replacing it.
Victoria lists it as "RS 660 35kW KV variant", 659cc.

What to look for
The LAMS and full-power RS 660 are visually near-identical, differing only in the ECU tune. As with every LAMS/full-power pair on this site, a private seller may misstate (deliberately or not) which one is being sold, and a learner riding the full-power version is riding unlicensed.

What to look for
Aprilia is a low-volume, recently (re-)established brand in the Australian market, and this platform has not been on sale here long enough to have generated the kind of used-market fault pattern that exists for the long-running Japanese middleweights. Electrical and dealer-support concerns sometimes raised about Italian bikes are a real ownership factor but were not able to be sourced specifically for this model in Australia this session.
